No difficult buildinplan for some new superbait now. No table full with tools and materials as well. Just built a nice "easy" lure that you can fish that same day. All the materials can be bought in a normal tackle store. And are very cheap as well.
Materials
- Gamakatsu LS5013F hooks size 4/0.
- Imitation squids of 12 cm
- Cylinder lead of 10 gr
- Twistertail of approximately 9 cm.
- A piece of rubber tubing.
- Tools: pliers and iron saw.
Step by step explanation
The 10 gr lead is sawed in halve, obtaining two pieces of 5 gr. each. These pieces are sawed in the length up to the middle of the lead. This makes it possible to the shank of the hook in the sawed opening of the lead. Use the pliers to pinch the lead back together.
The far end of the squid is cut off, making it possible to put the eye of the hook through the front end of the squid.
Put a twister on this hook. Put the piece of rubber tubing over the eye of the other hook. Then mount the eye (with the tubing) over the hook point of the hook with the squid. It may be necessary to pinch the squid hooks barb flat.
And the nice looking lure is ready. And it catches as well.
By changing the lead weight you can make the lure more suitable for shallow or deeper waters.
It is possible to use Stainless steel wire to attach a spinnerblade in front of the lure. To built such a device a want to direct you to the spinner section, specific the article "The POASK 4".
You can build a spinnerbait like this as well. It is recommended to use a heavier lead, otherwise the spinnerbait won't run straight under the spinnerblade.
