During a fishing trip in the beautiful friese polders, a friend of mine saw a Jointed cranckbait hanging from a tree. The cranckbait was so filthy that anybody would have left it there.
But we didn't. My friend removed it from the tree and gave it to me.

I took it home with me and removed the splitrings and hooks. Afterwards i placed the cranckbait in a bowl, that was large enough (for me) to submerge the cranckbait entirely (under water). And here is the trick. Put one tablet of Steradent in the bowl. Steradent is a (foaming) product used for cleansing (your) dentures. Yeah yeah, make jokes about it all you want, it works. Leave it like this for about two days and make sure that the lure is completely submerged during this period. In this case i used a floating lure, so i needed to add some weight to it in order to keep it submerged. I used a cup filled with water for this purpose. All together it took three days to get the lure clean. But because the cranckbait was extremely filthy, i added an extra tablet on second day.

And behold the result: a nice, clean cranckbait, as good as new. All i had to do next was to add new splitrings and hooks. With a minimum on effort, I will now have loads of fun with this newest addition to my lure collection. P.S. You can also use Steradent to remove any coffee or tea stains in your coffee can. To do so, fill your can completely with water. Add a tablet of Steradent. Leave it (standing) for about two days. The coffee can will be bright and shining again. Don't forget to rinse the can properly with water before you use it again.
