Stencil for round lures
You have to cut a piece of aluminum foil, used for BBQ, with a height of 2.5
times the height of the lure and about length of the lure. Fold this in
half. Now press the round lure in the fold and press the belly screw-eye
into the fold. Remove the lure and use a pin to make a hole where you
pressed the eye in the fold. Now place the lure back in the fold and push
the belly screw-eye through the hole. Add a small S-shaped wire through the
eye so it won't pull through the fold again. Now fold the foil to the back
of the lure and fasten all the edges with some sort of clippers. I used
paperclips. Add a S-shaped wire to the tail screw-eye and hold the lure up.
Spray the color you want for the stripes and let the lure hang there to dry.
When the paint has dried, remove the foil.
How do you furnish this stencil? You know how to cut it with a pair of
scissors as I described above. Now fold the rectangle in half. Draw a
pattern on one half and use the scissors to cut this pattern out. Now you
have the salme pattern on each side of the lure. It's as simple as that.
This idea has been created by Arjan Willemsen, a very famous and skilfull
angler and lurebuilder who lives in Holland.
