take a piece of (rond) balsa wood with a diameter of 8mm (for sale at nearly every DIY store ). Saw off a piece of 5 to 6 cm. cut a piece of (stainless) steel wire with a diameter of 1.2 mm. Use this thickness because it works like a needle; it doesn't bend easily and you can stick it through the wood easily. And with a bit of practice, you will be able to stick it right through.

Take the wire and turn it in to a spinneraxis by bending an eye to one side of the wire. Don't finish it off with shrinking tube. Stick the spinneraxis right through the balsa body.

Use a waterproof sandpaper (grain 400)to round of the edges and smoothen the body. Don't use a rougher grain, because the wood is very soft and this wil give you serious damage to the body. Paint the balsa body with white paint and repeat this until the body is nice and smooth (sand the body in between). Spray the desired pattern on the body.

Wait one day and smear epoxy glue on the body and spread it evenly. Turn it around until the glue has hardened. This takes about 5 minutes, depending on the kind of epoxy-glue you use. Don't stir to fast when mixing the two components of the glue. this will create small airbubbles which will appear when the glue hardens. This will lead to some uncovered spots because when the glue hardens, it lets out heat during the process. THis causes the bubbles to burst open thus leaving that spot uncovered. The epoxy is mainly to protect the wood from water-seapage and pike's teeth.

Slide on the desired beads and spinnerblades. Slide a piece of shrinking tube on the axis and heat it until the shrinking tube fits tightly round the wrappings.

Ty a treble in with bucktail. Put a big splitring on the bottom eye. Hang in the treble. And the bucktailspinner with balsa body is ready.

If you can't ty in trebles with bucktail, or you just ran out of bucktail, there are some amazing results possible with rubber treble decorations. These rubber decorations are for sale at a lot of taklestores.
