This is the Swinging Tyger, made by Mark Houghton. I won this lure at the name competition at www.lurebuilding.nl. I choose this name because the lure looks like an angry cat, a high back. The colorpattern of the lure at the competition was the one from a tyger. Instead of using the word flipping, I choose Swinging.
Any way I hoped that the action of the lure was very swinging.
Finish:
When I received the lure, the shape strucked me; a high back and a fat belly. On the picture it all looks less. The length of the lure is 12,5 cm / 5 ", a perfect jerkbait for fishing the Weeds.
Mark did a great paintjob on this lure, pattern: trout. Also the lure has a nice lacquercoating.
Action:
The Swinging Tyger is a suspending jerkbait, nicely weighted. It sinks calmly.
Using strong jerks, de lure spreads out and describes half a circle. So it spreads out and returns back in line. I like that kind of action, I have not seen it before. It looks like an escaping fish that returns to her position.
Using soft jerks, the Swinging Tyger keels over and spreads out a bit.
Anyway the Swinging Tyger has my approval. Thanks a lot, Mark.
