Wood
18 or 22 mm thick beech wood.
Leadholes
Drill a hole with a diameter of 10 or 12 mm and 10 mm deep.
Make sure that the leadholes are exactly centered on the perchbait. Otherwise the lure hangs to one side.
Weights
- Perchbait floating: +/- 55g
- Perchbait sinking: +/- 65g
Shape
Just round off all edges with a woodrasp or woodfile.
Slightly narrow the tail from the vertical line on. Just
reduce the width about 3 - 4 mm. This way it has a better wobble.
Make sure that the nose-eye is exactly in the center.
*** The optional second screw-eye gives a different action ***
Hooks
Gamakatsu trebles:
Size 1 or 2.
If you use trebles of another brand go up one size.
Type of jerkbait
The perchbait is a floating and flanking diver.
It can be made suspending or slow sinking as well.
You can even troll or crank it back.
